INSTALLATION
Flooring installation: preparation step by step
Prepare the subfloor, tools and layout. Always use the selected product’s instructions for exact installation requirements.
1. Check the instructions and material
Read the instructions for the specific model before starting. Check packs, batch and panel condition. Follow the manufacturer’s acclimatisation, temperature and moisture requirements rather than applying one value to every product.
2. Prepare the subfloor
The subfloor must be clean, stable, suitably dry and level. Measure the parameters required by the instructions. Select the correct underlay or adhesive and check the rules for underfloor heating.
3. Plan the layout
Prepare a tape measure, square, suitable cutting tool and spacers where required. Plan the first and last rows, staggered joints, thresholds and expansion gaps according to the instructions.
4. Install and inspect
Join panels without damaging the locking system. Check alignment and joints regularly. Do not trap a floating floor beneath fixed furniture contrary to the instructions. Finish skirting and transitions as specified.
5. Before first use
Remove installation debris using an approved method. Inspect the joints and keep the documentation. For glued flooring, respect the adhesive curing time before loading the floor.
