SPC or LVT: what should you compare?
Understand rigid-core SPC and flexible LVT, and check the requirements of each installation system.
Product construction
SPC generally has a rigid mineral-polymer core. LVT describes flexible vinyl coverings, including glue-down and self-adhesive products. The individual product specification determines the installation method; the abbreviation alone does not.
Subfloor and fixing method
Click flooring needs a subfloor meeting the installation instructions. Glue-down and self-adhesive products may require a particularly smooth surface and specific preparation. Choose adhesive, primer and underlay for the actual system.
Compare the specific product
Check dimensions, wear layer, approved rooms, underfloor heating compatibility and warranty conditions. Wall panels and floor panels are not interchangeable unless explicitly approved by the manufacturer.
